In About 2 Hours

by Darryl Price

You know what you came here for. It isn't
whatever they are selling. You can feel
it in your bones though. You've always known it's
got to be there. Sometimes it's frustrating,

using words to get free from all their lies.
I say leave them far away and behind.
We came here for expected love. The kind
that always works without being nothing

we can't do. There's laughter as one of the
world's oldest musical instruments you
can play. There's dawn's light as shoemaker of
very fine found furniture. There's a built-

in shoulder to lean on inside every
geometrically designed home true to
its architectural nature. Take a
brave walk into one today. What's the real

difference between a leaf and a door?
That's what we are waiting for; you to stop
all this hiding that deepest feeling. Like
gray moths parked on the bench of trees, some don't

care to know how beautiful you are when
you decide to join the dance. It's a shame.
They can be so cold. They've even got a
brand new excuse for every time you are

in pain. I can't help but feel that's bad for
them. In effect, we are our love. They don't
want to share. Not easy, but it's better
than the same, numb, boring alternative.

What is a wild mistake? Are we allowed
to make one without being labelled as
lost at sea? Nevertheless, all shall be
forgiven. That's how we open the gate.
