How to Make Enemies, Left and Right

by Darryl Price

for Danielle Lynn

Guru is the rockstar of India, John said, and
he was right. Some of them can even levitate.
It doesn't make you good, it only makes you
good at what you do. John knew the Beatles
weren't saints or saviors, but that they were really
good at writing songs and entertaining millions of people

everywhere. They paid close attention to life's happy accidents
and it paid off.  Alchemists on the other hand
are the paid psychiatrists of the modern New Age.
The are extremely good at explaining the true nature
of things, like patterns, sound waves and even thoughts
that can be turned into best actions for you

to consider. What they are not real good at
is listening to anything but tons of scientifically sound,
passed down spiritual knowledge. Some things can't be explained
no matter how smart you are. Some are pretty
easy to see and understand the pay off or
the danger of if you really give it a

good long look. With any real effort at common
discernment you could probably teach yourself to figure that
much out for yourself. Alchemists want to show you
how to turn any and all base instincts you
may have into golden ones, for your benefit and
the benefit of all mankind. Pretty noble, but it

doesn't make them any better than you as a
real person, just good at doing their chosen jobs;
even if you are wallowing in self-pity or trauma
of any kind, they are just people like you,
too, and not above or below you. They have
physical bodies that function like physical bodies. They eat

and sleep and go to the bathroom and dream
and laugh and cry just like you do. They
watch their favorite movies. They read their favorite authors.
They listen to new and old music. Drive cars,
go to the grocery store. Take pills. Whatever. They
get frustrated with it all some times, other times

they may walk around in amazing clarity and kindly
self acceptance, but they don't become non-human beings. But,
listen, you still need a lust for life to
enjoy life to its fullest. You still need your
ego to push you beyond your self-imposed limits. You
still need your imagination to set you free, you

need silliness to keep you sane, you need to
make mistakes to learn from, freedom to choose your
own choices, to live your own life and dreams.
So what if you're not perfect? No one is,
not gurus, not alchemists, not Beatles, and certainly not
poets. We're all just people. Look at their rings.

They like beautiful things. Look at their tattoos. They
are social beings. Buying interesting clothes. Hanging out alone
or with friends. Hanging cool pictures and other art
on their living room walls. Rubbing cat furs to make
them feel loved and seen. Point is, you've heard
me say this once before. Only love is love.
