About Me

I've always lived in Texas. I love art, science, and to ask questions. I started writing poetry at the age of nine and have kept a journal for 40 years. I published my first essay in 1995. I write true stories about people who lived drunk, crazy, and lost, mostly people in my family tree. I write about anyone who moves me.

I'm currently writing a book that begins with a question and ends with a body on a dark road in Maricopa County, Arizona. It's a memoir.

I also write at my personal blog http://wabisabiwords.blogspot.com

Why do you write?

Curiosity fuels my creativity, and I write because I've never NOT written.

Any favorite authors? Books?

A few of my favorite authors are Henry Miller, Robert Fulghum, Richard Bach, Julia Cameron, Natalie Goldberg, Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Kahlil Gibran, Malcolm Gladwell, Emma Forrest, David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, Stephen King, Anne Lamott, Leonard Cohen, Fred Alan Wolf...the list is endless
