    Why do you write?

    I must write. The 'why' is at times irrelevant, though I enjoy the results.

    Any favorite authors? Books?

    My favorite authors of fiction: Dumas, Forester, Austen and Doyle, though my favorite book remains Gerald Durrell's 'My Family and Other Animals', followed closely by Nevil Shute's 'The Legacy'.

    I review only non-fiction, as I enjoy it far more. My favorite piece read in the last two years was Stephan Talty's 'The Illustrious Dead'.
