G. Arthur Brown
About Me
I am 5'6", dwell in America, travel by Skylark. I have done voicework for horror films, plus a bit of facework. I semi-fronted the Baltimore band The Animatronics, a retro-New Wave act that couldn't keep it together long enough to ride the wave that brought Franz Ferdinand, Interpol and The Killers to the listening public. I did a really cool collage once. I really like cheese.
Why do you write?
I love short fiction. I would love to convince the world that short fiction is as important as--if not more so than--novels. I like stuff that's weird. Initially this meant that I read a lot of Sci-Fi/Fantasy books with covers that didn't feature a shirtless dude with a sword and/or laser blaster in his hand. But now I find more of the stories that really appeal to me are non-genre and even literary.
Why do I write? Because I have stories to tell that I don't think anyone else has managed to tell yet.
Any favorite authors? Books?
Kelly Link, Brian Evenson, Thomas Ligotti, Italo Calvino, Jorge Luis Borges, Lord Dunsany, Robert W. Chambers, Franz Kafka, Neil Gaiman, Jeff VanderMeer, D. Harlan Wilson, Jonathan Barnes, Anthony Burgess, Lewis Carroll, Mervyn Peake.

Cool.
Yes you are right it was Urbis...sorry. You should check out Scribophile.com, it is another good one.
Welcome...I remember you from Scribophile. Hope to see more of your works.
You would love my friend Zac Powers works. He's on fictionaut, but hasn't posted anything. I think you should try and contact him and hound him for his pieces. I told him about your work "The Tortoise in the Hair." I loved it.
