About Me

Darby Harn's first novel, The Book of Elizabeth, will be published in June 2010 by Prime Books.

He graduated from the University of Iowa and spent a summer in Dublin, Ireland at Trinity College with the Irish Writing Program.

His Pushcart Prize nominated story "Keeping Up Disappearances" appears in Storyglossia, and other fiction in Fantasy Magazine, Shimmer, and the anthology Jigsaw Nation.

Why do you write?

Sometimes I ask myself why I'm here, and I think the answer - whatever it is - is the same.

Any favorite authors? Books?

My favorite book is Frankenstein. I love The Hours, I love Joyce and Virginia Woolf. I also admire Kelly Link, David Milch, D.A. Powell, Joss Whedon, Bill Willingham, and Neil Gaiman.
