About Me

I've been writing since 2008. I'm into the second draft of my magnum opus, but have been derailed from that for the time being by the short fiction bug. I didn't think I could do it - I almost gave up, and then earlier this year I began to get some of my stories accepted. Claire King published my first at The View From Here, and since then the ideas won't leave me alone.

I studied with the Open University, and I work part time at my local independent bookshop. The rest is what you will.

Why do you write?

I write because I must.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Favourite authors? There are so many… and favourite books too. Hmm. Tolkien, Margaret Atwood, Etgar Keret, Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, Shakespeare, William Gibson, Hilary Mantel, Lionel Shriver, Douglas Adams… that'll do for a start. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is a particular favourite, and The Wind In The Willows. I'm staring at my bookshelves, but there are just too many answers.
