Sally Houtman asks, Sally Houtman gets.
Thanks, Sally. (ironic? nawww) *
OH MY GOD!!!!
The first "Brown Paper Bag" changed my life.
I'd never have thought it possible for any other piece of writing to move me in such a way again.
But, Crabby-Smiley, you've outdone yourself.
"Beyond the Bag' has caused me to question the very meaning of life itself.
It has caused me to find religion, then relinquish it, just so that I could find it again.
This piece of writing has cured my nasty head cold...
it has sutured the hole in the ozone layer...
it has made my household appliances more energy efficient...
it has caused me to be kinder to insects...
it has inspired me to answer that e-mail in my inbox about adopting a Nigerian family...
I could go on.
Suffice it to say that I thought I was living,
but realized only after reading this,
that I was previously only partially alive.
I suppose I'll have to write a review of this one as well.
Because the plot is so complex, the cast of characters so varied and large, folks may have to read the original to catch up before attempting to negotiate the plot twists in the sequel.
The original "Brown Paper Bag" can be found here. (Caution: It's VERY long, and VERY moving. Read at your own risk.)
Thanks again, Sally. (I was already kind to insects when I read this, but some of the other things...I do feel sort of rebirthed.)
