Impetuous Daffodils
by Gary Hardaway
Before the tough but small mesquites
announce, with buds, all danger of frost
is past, the daffodils will fling
their yellow petals, taunting winter
whose plans for Easter often take
an icy turn and drop a white
surprise of snow to brown and liquefy
an early gift of flowers.
nicely done.
That is surely the case. Nicely wrought.
Nice--love the color from yellow to brown that seems to measure the time.
I like the music -
"taunting winter
whose plans for Easter often take
an icy turn and drop a white
surprise"
