An Excoriated Sensibility
by Gary Hardaway
for SP on the recurrent anniversary of her birth
The machines of her perception
tuned themselves to frequencies
that peeled her skin and fatty tissue
to expose the most sensitive nerves.
The wind and sun burned
into her brain stem.
I have discovered a few of those
wavelengths. I fear.
Burns the skin.*
Nice poem. Nice.*
Liked so much I read it more than three times. *
I like the extreme nature of this - The compressed lines and phrasing add here. Good piece.
Really liked the compression and form.*
Esp. loved "The wind and sun burned
into her brain stem.
I have discovered a few of those
wavelengths. I fear."
Btfl expressions Gary. Well done *
What you DON'T say scares me. *
Amanda, Clark, Chris, Sam, Gary, Javed, and Jake- I am grateful for the kind response.
