Maria met her husband in World War Two. Maria is now eighty-two. She is from the country of Tuscany. She has lived in may countries. She was a war bride. She has a son. Maria's son is sixty-three. As a baby-boomer he won't retire until sixty-five Maria says. Maria is watching a parade. Santy Claus will come at the end on a fire engine. All of this country is moving so fast. All of this for these big holidays. My beautiful husband for sixty-five years. You look so young. You know every president leaves a mess. I lived in Florida for twenty-three years. I have seen many terrible storms.

This also appeared in Invisible Ear #4. I based this partially off a conversation I had on the street with a woman flabbergasted by a parade.

ooh, the final line is great but i think the line that devastated me the most was "My beautiful lhusband for sixty-five years" -- beautiful.
