Back in the day there used to be a thing called
The Fictionaut Challenge, where all who cared to participate would write a piece for Fictionaut in the form of their choice that complied with the terms of the challenge. It was fun and sometimes, to the surprise of their writer, resulted in some astonishing work.
Whether we like it or not, whether we will it or not, the world as it is as opposed to the earth we would like it to be, always infiltrates our work.
Inspired in part by Kitty Boots's incendiary lament, just published as " Now" I am proposing
the following challenge:
A piece of any length, in any form, on "The World
as it Is."
You are of course free to refuse, ignore, or play in your own playpen. It may or may not be fun. It may or may not produce art. It could be necessary.

Here's the Fictionaut link to Paleo Prophet. Thanks for hosting this, David.
And the Winner Is: Kitty Boots!
Congrats Kitty, sorry your fine piece got eclipsed by um events. I guess since it was BP( Before the Plague) the challenge should be renamed "The world as it used to be, up until last week."
