About Me
I've been writing for as long as I can remember being alive. As a child, I used to tape paper together to form little books, and write stories and draw accompanying pictures. As an adult, fiction has been my passion, and I write both short stories ands novel-length fiction. I am also a contributing writer to an independent community newspaper in Milwaukee.
Why do you write?
In a nutshell, human observation fuels my creativity. My life's journey so far has led to encounters with people from all walks of life, and to places both common and uncommon. As I gather these observations and experiences, I combine them with my wild imagination; thus forming my short stories and novels - an outlet to share these experiences.
Any favorite authors? Books?
While I enjoy a gamut of different writing styles, my favorites lean towards quirky/contemporary. I really enjoy the writing of Carl Hiaasen, Nick Hornby, Carole Nelson Douglas (her Midnight Louie series rocks) Davis Sedaris, and Sarah Vowell. While I'm not as much of a fan of the horror genre now as I was in my teens and twenties, I still admire Stephen King's writing style - his characterization and keen knack for detail and description ranks among the best.
