i like spreading the rumor that oakland sucks because i don't want anyone moving here - first it makes me feel like an elitist, but then i feel a little like a soldier, and then i think: i can't get close to these people because i might have to kill them someday to save my friend's life; but then i think: that's silly. they're too snobbish to move to oakland anyway.

similarly, when people start to ask me for a cigarette, i ask them for one. works every time.
