About Me

I've done a lot and am sort of in a "settled" phase in my life. I'm a former boat bum, MFA grad, and kind of a tough chick even though most people don't know it. I'm pretty career-driven and normal by day, have a beautiful baby daughter and a great husband, and like to live life to the fullest whenever I can.

Why do you write?

Nothing is more inspiring than real life. I'm rewriting a memoir about growing up living aboard a sailboat right now.

Any favorite authors? Books?

I grew up reading Hemingway...then went through a Southern Gothic phase. My favorite book of all time is Thomas McGuane's Ninety-two In The Shade (yes, more fishing and boats). It's a tight and tragic novel that starts with an acid trip in the Florida Keys... A close second is Hunter S. Thompson's Rum Diary.
