About Me

I'm a Tucson-based book marketeer/publisher by trade, who also spends way too much time immersing myself in pop-culture and other mind candy. I loves biggest my cat Tosca and my pug Petunia, and my husband sitruc who doubles as a tec/design genius.

Why do you write?

My passion is bringing great books and readers together, and recently I've been having great fun learning how to incorporate social media into the world of books and reading.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Favorite book ever is Marilynne Robinson's Housekeeping.

Currently I'm hooked on William Gibson, Kelly Link, and Neil Gaiman.
Perennial favorites are all kids books (which is quite telling): Dare Wright's The Lonely Doll; Tove Janson's Finn Family Moomintroll; Ruth Stiles Gannet's My Father's Dragon; and of course Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince.

I love the consistently pretty & smart titles (front, back and everything in-between) put out by Chronicle; the hipster genius work of SoftSkull Press; the fantastical dreamy & often hilarious books produced by Small Beer Press; Chelsea Green & Island Press cuz they make saving the world fun and interesting; and almost anything put out by a university press cuz they matter.
