Chicago-based writer. I'm writing a novel with themes of hedonism, theology, and the cultural ecology of the American West. I also recently started a novel meant to be a cheap thriller, but really a literary take on thrillers, as I don't actually read thrillers.
I have published poetry and very short fiction in lit and art journals in Europe. American outlets have been less receptive. This seems to make sense.
I do not have an MFA. I do have a doctorate from a prestigious East Coast university. This does not matter in life as much as one might think. I loathe the New Yorker. I highly suggest reading Cosmopolis by Don DeLillo, and immediately afterward viewing the David Cronenberg film adaption. The experience is akin to watching The Wizard of Oz to Dark Side of the Moon.
