When the army was bulldozing grandmother's house, I pointed out the curiously attractive whistling sounds that were emanating from the engine. But my family was otherwise occupied. Such is the way of things. I lay my treasures at their feet to be ignored.
Nice, Stephen!
Brilliant, but the title perplexes (necessarily).
Great stuff. I really like that you call it an 'event particle'.
One of the most concise stories, revelation of character, description of conflict, I've ever seen. Excellent!
Thanks very much for the reads and comments and lovely stars. I'm pleased with this story, with the narrator/character and the who he could be. Sometimes I think he's a self-absorbed Palestinian teenager. That makes me happy.
Good piece, Stephen. No waste, but tells me everything. Especially like the closing.
thanks for the read, comment and star, sam. always much appreciated.
The narrative voice is so interesting. *
