Your gaze—
I dissolved.
Here's an earlier version of the poem:
Surrender wasn't a decision.
Your eyes didn't ask—they saturated.
I couldn't look away—
adoration, desire, Your gaze
slipping me away—so perfectly, to You.
Soundtrack:
Next to Me – RÜFÜS DU SOL
Ah, the gaze.
So interesting to see your process and the arrival. I've been watching Richard Burton movies and I can see him saying/articulating both to great effect.
Your love poems resonate sincerity. I admire your economy too. Fine work.
Thanks so much!
