The Yellow Wallpaper: For the narrator with no name, sometimes called Jane. Words in italics from the story itself.
This story has no tags.
I love this. I make a point of reading the work before the note -- I was about to google the name of the husband in The Yellow Wallpaper to verify. Totally nailed it.
This: Hysteria, postpartum; diagnosis unimportant. Treatment is all that matters.
I like the double-edged feel to that.
analytical minds turned inward plunge off at outrageous angles, destroy themselves in unheard of contradictions.
I feel a real chill in that last line.
Oh the last line. ***
"leavin where all good intentions lead."
Yes. *
"She saw what they told her she was"
Scary. *
Good poem. Strong way to close.
I like the invention. Analytical minds indeed. *
Frankie - The fact that you sensed the story without knowing fulfills me. Thank you for sharing that.'
SDR - I'm glad you like that restructure. :)
Dianne and Rachna - Those last lines were written first. I feel they say it all!
Charlotte - Yes! I almost deleted that line! Thank you!
Daniel, Sam - again, the close is the heart of it. Thank you for your kind words.
John - How sadly, sweetly true, right? Thank you so much!
Terrific gloss on "The Yellow Wallpaper"!
