I entered a Short Screenplay Challenge. Forty people in my group. Two Rounds. Best combined score advances to the next round. Nice little cash prize and bling for the winner.
They give you the genre, location and one object you have to use. Screenplay has a five page limit.
I scored 11 points in the first round - making me fourth. Not bad for someone who has far more experience yelling at movies than writing them.
Next assignment is midnight tomorrow. Hoping they don't stick me with historical fiction again.
Done bragging.
So did you win?
I did not. I scored points in the second round, but the combined score was not enough for me to advance.
So I went online and ordered a "SCREENWRITERS SUCK" T-shirt.
I'm in a short story contest with the same company now. It's a lot like my FFF contests on Authonomy.
They give you the genre, a character and an object, and you have to write a story.
I drew Spy genre, a pool service technician and buried treasure. I posted my entry here. Title: Cats
All positive comments are welcome.
(I have to score in the top 5 out of 30 in my heat to advance to round 2)
