I loved season one. Fell behind after that, though.

    I'm four episodes in.

    Just amazing execution.

(do you think I should stop soon to keep my appraisal high?)

    CUTE baby... memories

Should this go before or after Orange is the New Black in my queue?

When I click on the link above I get this:

    "Netflix:

Watch TV shows & movies anytime, anywhere"

    With this directly below:

"Sorry, Netflix is not available in your country yet."

    Heh.

    Apparently I don't live 'anywhere.'

    :)

We can get Netflix now. So used to living without it, I hardly see the point. Like growing up without cable TV.

"So used to living without it, I hardly see the point."

When I first read that, I read it as, there's no point in living without it.

    But then, I *am* nowhere.

I don't understand the unavailability of Netflix in some countries.

I would assume Netflix would want a share of that market, so I can only assume that it is the countries themselves preventing access.

I suspect it's media corporations more than countries. They seem bent on maintaining artificial distribution territories in the face of all logic.

You've got to be right. But why reject an internet presence? Protection of national tv distribution monies?

What business in said country would BENEFIT from not allowing Netflix to operate?

Or is said country demanding too much tax/fees for Netflix to profitably operate?

More about arriving at distribution agreements between Netflix & rights holders & licensing & all that other 20th century IP crap.

Didn't mean to derail the discussion. But for those who want to know.............................

The answer is probably alarmingly more simple than you think. don't know about other countries, but in NZ we still have metered broadband.

    YIKES!!

    It's truuuuuuue.

    Unlimited broadband?! (*choke* *Laugh* *snort*)

No one could AFFORD to watch all those cool movies!

Anyway, anyone interested can read this:

    http://www.computerworld.co.nz/article/493712/itex_netflix_coming_nz_-_blames_poor_broadband_content_deals/
    .....

Now go back to talking about the cool show (I can't watch).

If anyone needs me, I'll be here carving more bison into my cave wall.

Can someone hand me a chisel?

    :)

Oh, New Zealand. Yeah, I heard you guys are still tying punch cards to pigeons down there.

It's a matter of taste, I suppose. I managed to watch only about 7 minutes of this before needing a shower for the exposure, like the feeling you get after a bout of influenza... after a week without bathing or leaving the house. The show had the flavor of a sit-com under a layer of banality. Granted, energetic banality with a touch of self-effacement in the presentation, as though it's not ashamed of its lack of shame. But, like I said, I could only handle seven minutes before bailing, so maybe it got better.

But I'll never know. Life is too short.

Don't mind me. I also used to get hives walking through the Barbie aisle in a toy store. I only did it for my daughter.

So the "behind in the times" humor from Flight of the Conchords regarding New Zealand is accurate, eh?

Wait, so is this like rickrolling, where you're trying to trick us into watching a really terrible show?

Won't work, buddy. I watched the whole first season of Honey Boo Boo all on my own.

I thought the first four eps. were great, particularly since they were so over the top.

    Father GOOFY without being stupid.

    Mother sarcastic without being hateful.

Son naive without being...what's another word for stupid?

    Great=grandmother demented/outrageous without being...disgusting.

But it was VERY high concept (i.e., limited) and it soon turned into the same thing over and over.

    DEFINITELY watch the first four!
