    People, friends, last opportunity to get great writing at a price of your own choosing: for the third time, Metazen injects its home-brew of literature in the global charity market. Including favourite Fictionaut members Robert Vaughan, James Claffey, and Extie Ecks…you can donate now, and get the Metazen Christmas Charity Ebook later in a variety of formats:

    This is going to be massive. I'll get Henna paintings for my hands when this book hits the net. Geez, I'll wear stockings for a day. I'll dip my thick thumb in honey mustard and draw METAZEN on the window of a Starbucks. This makes me feel poetic! Season's greetings to you!

    ...hold on: what kind of charity, guv?

    Season's greetings, Marcus.

    Even now, I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my Metazen Christmas ebook. I never thought I would regain the excitement and sense of wonder I felt for Christmas as a small child. I thought, "Those are childish things. For adults, the winter holidays are about obligation and guilt and failure."

    Then I discovered the Metazen Christmas ebook! (And a lovely, inexpensive chardonnay.) It was like a chorus of angels sang "Hallelujah!!!" while dancing in figgy pudding! Or maybe that was an internet porn, come to think of it.

    Anyway, the point being, the Metazen Christmas ebook is at least as exciting and festive as bizarre internet porn.

    I am secretly hoping that there will be a surprise bonus gift. Because, Dear Metazen, if you're listening, I really, really want a bronie.

    Love,

    Frankie

    Thanks for posting these links and for the mention of the Metazen Christmas (or any holiday for that matter!) e-book, Marcus! I'm thrilled to be a part of it in 2012, and so happy to receive mine on 12/25! I hope many others are, too.

    Plus, to be included in the same group as Marcus Speh, Extie Ex, Sara Lippman and Dennis Cooper= nirvana! Dreams really do come true.

    @Frankie Thank you! The Metazen Christmas Ebook still can be about obligation, guilt and failure! In fact, the Metazen ebook format is so flexible, Any writer with even little experience can turn this wonderful book into an instrument of literary torture...it's down to you. The makers, the authors and even the metazen Muse herself who sees everything and feels everything offer their work free of any obligation to be happy. It's as it's been since the dawn of Man: our freedom to be happy is tied to the freedom to be unhappy like a pair of terrible twins...I'm especially conscious of this at Christmas. So the ebook says: use your freedom any way you like!

    Bronie?

    I just googled the term.

    For just a moment there, I lost all hope for mankind.

    What a world, what a world... I guess I'd better just go ahead and order The Metazen Christmas Ebook.

    Say! Why don't we all exercise our right to compulse obsessively or even celebrate survival of the Mayan Apocalypse and do the same?

    I feel better already.

    Jim, following your example, I just invested a chunk of time into finding out what a "bronie" is. Sounds like a kind of fanboy...I conclude that I must feel extremely relaxed about time if I can spend on researching "bronies". So Christmas has arrived and if this sells more charity books the world's a better place already. I might just go on philosophizing all day...or perhaps I'll have bath and do some dictatin' words amidst salts and candle lights...a way to celebrate survival on a daily basis.

    @Marcus

    I purchase the Metazen Christmas ebook to exonerate myself of obligation, guilt and failure. The gingerbread dough may moulder in the back of the refrigerator, elaborately planned castles unbuilt; presents may be delivered half-wrapped in duct-taped paper bags; Christmas cards may litter my desk, unmailed, until I stuff them in a draw with the idea that I will steam them open and pen over this year's date in eleven months. For one brief moment, as I click the "Approve Donation" PayPal button for the Metazen Christmas ebook, I feel as though I have accomplished something right and good this holiday season.

    @Frankie

    I would suggest to the Metazen editors to add your paragraph to the ebook as a sort of manifesto but I've got nothing (more) to say. Really.

    @Marcus

    We are fortunate that we celebrate European-style with a family gathering on the eve of the 24th rather than American-style in a full-blown affair spanning the day the 25th. This means I will have fulfilled nearly all the social imperatives of the holiday by the time the Metazen Christmas ebook arrives in my email on the 25th.

    All that remains is for me, on the 25th, is to don my Apocalypse hat (you could be forgiven if you mistook it for a remaindered Hooker Elf hat, but I assure you it is an Apocalypse hat), swig leftover nog until I am feeling jocular and oratory, and call distant friends and relatives at an hour when they are unlikely to answer their phones so that I can read, without interruption, saucy bits of the Metazen Christmas ebook onto their voicemail.

    I hope there are some saucy bits in the Metazen Christmas ebook.

    Since some people have asked me there seems to be a misunderstanding: I've got nothing to do with the creation of the book or with the project, I'm only an author whose work was solicited for said book...Id never have time for anything like creating a project...I'm much too busy procrastinating!!!

    (My only connection with Metazen is through this fellow Finnegan Flawnt who keeps reappearing in bad faith. He was a Metazen editor once but the youthful energy of Metazen's staff turned out to be too overwhelming for him: fictionaut.com/users/finnegan-flawnt)
