Can someone explain how one posts photos to compliment a piece of writing? The technique may have been discussed before, but I can't recall when, and I have sometimer's, so please forgive me.
Marcus, Meg, Con, James? Nobody's going to tell me? Is it a secret?
I tried to post a photo from my own pictures file with no success.
I think you might have to copy/paste from an internet source (hence all the "Google Images" being posted).
Joani,
For my poem A Bestiary of Sorts, I posted a photo in the notes section. Here's the html code with Internet link that I posted (the code also lists the desired W and H of the image):
<img src="http://img.groundspeak.com/waymarking/large/ef430bfa-868f-454b-ac4e-5187fad0675f.JPG" height="288" width="384">
This code will work - using your own variation for size and your link to the Internet address.
Well - the code lists the image only - Here's the code without the opening and closing < >
img src="http://img.groundspeak.com/waymarking/large/ef430bfa-868f-454b-ac4e-5187fad0675f.JPG" height="288" width="384"
If you add the < and >, hopefully, this will work.
I've used images from the Internet without a code. I can't seem to paste the thumbnail-sized image in the Forum section, but I've done it several times in my poetry files that I've posted to the main wall. If the image is much larger than thumbnail size, a slight problem develops becuase of the oversize. In a case like that you would want to use an image code to post - though I'm not certain if an image code will work in the posts, but I know copying the image and pasting it in works.
Sam: Thanks, but even that's over my head. Where do I find the "code" for a specific image? Sorry for being so dense.
This is what I do.
I use blogger. I create my post as if posting to my blog. Al the text, yadayadayada. Then, I click on the image icon and pull a pic from my personal pics directory. When blogger uploads the image, the html code is all there. I then cut and paste into the fictionaut notes section. Voila! Peace...
Linda: I just switched my blog from tumblr to wordpress. I think that'll work. Thanks! You're sweet, and I actually understood what you wrote. I don't know if its age or the ancient knee-jerk reaction I have to learning anything that even smacks of understanding numbers in any way. I tell my students, "That's why I teach English."
