Just a heads up in case you missed it on the blog -- Fictionaut will shut down for 12 hours tomorrow, January 18, to protest PIPA and SOPA. More here: http://blog.fictionaut.com/2012/01/17/fictionaut-sopa-strike/
Right on...
Frozen heads across the nation enthusiastically support this move and the freedom of expression.
"Fictionaut is committed to creativity, freedom of expression, and a censorship-free Internet,"...yes.
It's about time. I posted about SOPA and PIPA here weeks ago and only one person replied to it. Glad to see I'm not the only one concerned about this overreaching Bill. There are ways to stop piracy but this is not it. Thankfully, Congress is easing up or removing some of the Amendments in the bills like court ordered DNS Blocking.
Good move, Jürgen.
It's good to go dark, even though the inside-the-beltway view is that this bill, and two others like it, are dead in the water.
Still, it's best to be part of the response community, as this may be the dress rehearsal for what may come later... and if things don't go well in November, who knows what they'll be cooking up next year?
Thanks,
Bill
Thank you! I'm totally with you on this!
Thanks Jurgen, and Fictionaut. I stand solid with you on this decision.
My own site has gone black: http://wflantry.com/
If you have a site, or even just a wordpress blog, you can find info on how to join the protest here:
