  " We were sipping coffee one morning. Mary asked, “Were we happier then?”

  “Busier.” I pondered. “Lots more opportunities for culinary drainage".

  I laughed and then I sat upright and then my head tilted and my ears grew more still and urgent to their purpose. Finally I said to myself,'Someone's put it down in words." Marriage. Kids. Kids leaving home. Bravo,Robert! It's both chilling and strange, and quite wonderful stuff.I love your wild inventiveness and the willingness with which you pursue it.
