Dang! The least they could have done was stated the poor guy's name in the article. He would have gotten his fifteen minutes. Perhaps now he has a story worth optioning.
As my father used to say, to show he thought little of some work: "That ain't worth the powder to blow it to hell!" I guess, in this case, the script *was* worth the powder... ;)
Hope he had another copy!
I had 2 novel ms. rejected by close to 100 agents. I had the same 2 novels circulate HarperCollins Books for close to three years and go thru 4 editors there. Each editor either quit or got fired. The 4th editor there just didn't want the books. Claimed they were "too deeply nuanced" for her. I thought that was the point of literary fiction-- go figure. Basically we just have to keep plugging.
Rejection gives us much fodder for inspiration, work and more stories.
