I am a lawyer in private practice in Columbia, South Carolina. Ten years ago I began writing fiction and have now completed five novels and a score of short fiction. Jack's Passage, my first novel, was published in 2001. My second - There Is A River - was published in 2002. My third work, The Storytellers, was released in late 2002. My fourth, Some Kind of Kin, is a novella published in 2004. Excerpts and ordering links are available on my website, www.wilmotbooks.com. Snippets from my latest novel, Merriman, and a quirky little novelette, Chronicle of the Life and Times of Fletcher Lowe, are also available there.
Recently Jhumpa Lahiri's "Unaccustomed Earth" and Junot Diaz's "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao"; less recently several of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's works; always Steinbeck, Faulkner, Hemingway; stories by Flannery O'Connor and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
