I live in south central PA. I own a yarn shop in a tourist town. I started writing again after nearly twenty years of reading and raising my family. It is a revelation.
For the past year, I have been working on a story that has been unfolding in bits and pieces. Sometimes I write from prompts, sometimes the characters in one piece open a new storyline that takes my breath away. So far, the work reads like the flotsam and jetsam of real life. Like someone has upended a file cabinet filled with children's drawings, test results and phone numbers. The story is dependent on the landscape I live in, it fuels it and starves it, too.
I read and read and read. I like fiction and nonfiction. I like poetry and prose. I like women authors and men. I read poetry journals online and I buy chapbooks and books when work moves me.
