Spencer Troxell
About Me
I am 28, married for ten years to my beautiful wife Abby, whom I have 2 sons with (Spencer, 8 & Jack, 4). I am the Men's entry dorm manager for the Drop Inn Center Homeless shelter in Cincinnati's Over The Rhine, and have a bachelor's degree in psychology. I am also a writer.
Why do you write?
I write because I feel bad if I don't. I get a little buzz from writing, especially when things are going well. I feel like I have to write. it's programmed in me. If I'm not writing regularly, I become cranky and frustrated and depressed.
Any favorite authors? Books?
This is a hard question, because I like so many authors and so many books, and my passion for any given author/book/subject waxes and wanes. Currently, I'm reading a lot of stuff online about evolutionary biology, philosophy, and current events. Because it's my major, I feel obligated to stay tuned in to what's going on in psychology. I'm currently reading Henry Rollins's 'A Preferred Blur', and am expecting books by Jorge Luis Borges and Colin McGinn in the mail any day.

IT'S GREAT TO HAVE YOU WITH US--and thanks for all the good work you do. Much appreciated.
I loved "Lawnmower Season" -- in part because of my Cincinnati roots, but mainly because it is just so damn good. My best to you re. your work in Over the Rhine - tough, I'm sure, but so important.
Welcome, Spencer. Thanks for making me a contact. I hope you enjoy it here.
