I'm an environmental lawyer in Washington, D.C. I also volunteer for 826DC. Here is my homemade website: http://www.seancarman.net
An idea that doesn't want to go away, the delusional expectation that working it into a piece of writing will be easy, just enough success with the finished product to barely outweigh the frustration and despair, and the possibly mistaken belief that with practice I'm getting better.
Lately I have been writing for The Rumpus, the Hobart Blog, the 826DC Blog, and I've been writing stories and working on a novel. I'm going to Tin House this summer, so if you will be there, say hello to me on-line!
"Don Quixote" is my favorite book, and I've just discovered that "The Master and Margarita" is a close second. I like Borges, Calvino, Beckett, Gore Vidal, Vonnegut, George Saunders, Susan Orlean, Ryan Boudinot, Steve Elliott, Elif Batuman, and others.
Good work, I think!
