Artist and writer living outside of Istanbul, Turkey. I'm a freelance illustrator, short story writer, and have finished a first draft of a young adult novel. Design junkie fascinated by the textile arts and photography, and when I'm not reading or writing, I'm usually stitching, sewing, or photographing. I am the curator of Art is Dialogue and moderator of Dialogue2010, the expat+HAREM virtual roundtable on art, culture, and hybrid identity.
Realizing there is an art to cultivating a creative life, I see a seamlessness between my work as an artist and writer and as a mother nesting abroad. My creativity is fueled by desire to start new projects, to see an idea executed, and the dialogues I have with people about art and writing.
I write when I get an idea that can't be painted, and vice versa.
