About Me
Nothing makes me happier than reading good books. I'm an events coordinator at an indie bookstore in New England. I also am a freelance writer, book reviewer, book reviews editor, and blogger.
Why do you write?
I write because that's all I've wanted to do since I was really young. Some of my best grade school memories include "publishing" stories that I wrote (and by publishing, I mean stapling cardstock around some pages I scrawled my story on).
Words are what make me feel alive.
Any favorite authors? Books?
The list is always changing. A few of my absolute favorites:
1. The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa
2. Middlemarch by George Eliot
3. Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
4. Possession by A.S. Byatt
5. A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
6. The Epicure's Lament by Kate Christensen
7. Tinkers by Paul Harding
8. If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino
9. A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
10. The Secret History by Donna Tartt

hi michelle,
and welcome to this wacky site.

Staples? You folks were quite sophisticated--I worked mostly with imaginary staples (and folded over paper).
You have listed some of my very favorites: Marquez, Calvino and Toole. I loved "stapling cardstock around some pages I scrawled my story on." My first one was on a toy printing press I got for Christmas.
