My debut story collection, Doctor Olaf van Schuler's Brain, will be published by Algonquin in October. My short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Ploughshares, the Southwest Review, the Maryland Review, Post Road, and other journals. Over the twelve years I've lived in San Francisco, I've directed the production of Salon.com, worked for a non-profit video arts organization, written thousands of pages of technical documents, and earned an MA in English and creative writing from San Francisco State University. I currently live with my husband, daughter, cat, and guinea pig.
I enjoy writing!
Recent favorites include: Tomato Girl by Jayne Pupek, Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Savages by Joe Kane, A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin, A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley, Jose Saramago's Blindness, Donna Tart's Secret History and Jonathan Franzen The Corrections.
