Writing is cathartic; for me at least. In a troubled world why read the paper? I'd rather take a positive outlook, write of things of wonder, have hope, dream of what could be.
I like Daishell Hammett, tend to love the genre of hard-boiled and noir, although I'll never tire of Tolkien. Really like the Charlie Resnick series by John Harvey.
