About Me

I live and write in South Philadelphia, near the Italian-Mexican-Southeast Asian Market. My novel-in-progress, Good Sal/Bad Sal, is about Atlantic City in the casino era, 1978 to the present. Any resemblances to actual people and places are... unavoidable.

Why do you write?

Methamphetamine -- joking! To make sense of my delusions.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Dostoevsky. Joyce Carol Oates, sometimes (she cranks out fiction faster than I can read it). Kundera, Cormac McCarthy, Hemingway, Carver, Murakami, Wells Tower, Jennifer Egan, Barry Hannah, Mary Gaitskill.

Hey David...we meet again! I didn't realize you lived so close to me, I'm also near the market. Anyway, thanks for reading Cactus, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, too - I really appreciate both! fos.
