    I was born in England but I've been living in Italy for the past thirty years. My first novel, Little Monsters (Picador) was published in 2008, the same year as my first collection of stories, The Scent of Cinnamon and Other Stories (Salt). My second novel, the first of a trilogy set in Rome, is called Any Human Face (Picador) and comes out in May 2010.
