With a sword swallower as a father and a Midwest fundamentalist soprano for a mother, is it any wonder I became a writer?
I am still putting finishing touches on my novel THE SWORD SWALLOWER'S DAUGHTER, an up-market coming of age story set in racially diverse Southern California during 1968.
When I'm not spinning tales, I write travel features for several trade pubs, as well as posts for my travel blog hosted by the Riverside, California Press-Enterprise.
And then there's my other work as a meeting planning consultant. It's equally enjoyable, yet dynamic in the cyclical pressures of what-must-be-done-now.
Sometimes I even update my personal blog, OVATIONS (www.ovations.blogspot.com).
Across the years I’ve been assistant editor of a national music magazine (CCM), written magazine cover features, personality profiles, music reviews and food features. I’ve had short fiction published in The Rose & Thorn (Spring, 2007) and Breath & Shadow (October 2007).
