I am a 2005 Pennsylvania Council on the Arts fellowship recipient for fiction. My work can be read in Parlor, Wild River Review, XConnect and Hackwriters. I have an MFA in creative writing from Rosemont College and a Master of Music from Michigan State University. I teach English and creative writing at Temple University, Rutgers Camden and Rowan University. Currently, I am the fiction editor and co-publisher of Philadelphia Stories Magazine.
I have always had a bizarrely rich and complex imagination. Anything can inspire me. I write because I have a lot to say!
Nabokov, Annie Proulx, Cormac McCarthy, George Saunders, David Sedaris, Carson McCullers, Kevin McIlvoy, Charles Holdefer, Amy Bloom, Flannery O'Connor, Alice Munro, Tobias Wolff, Jeffrey Eugenides...how much time do we have? (Favorite Philly authors? Curt Smith, Christine Weiser, Kelly Simmons, Elise Juska, Shawn McBride, Marc Schuster, Aimee LaBrie, Jim Waltzer, Susan Muaddi Darraj, Gregory Frost...)
Hi Carla! Welcome to Fictionaut. It wouldn't be Sunday without me saying 'Go Eagles!'
Hey Carla! Thanks to you and Christine and the whole PS crew (which, I suppose, includes me and Kerri) for a rockin' good time on Saturday!
