About Me

writer, editor, digiphile, girl of the creative persuasion.

Procurer of curiosities. If it's got rust, dust or a deep and troubled history, I'm sold.

I wear boots 85% of the year.

Seriously, now:
I copy edit at Midwestern Gothic. My work has appeared in PANK, Hobart, The Rumpus and Used Furniture Review, among others. I received an MFA in Creative Writing from Ashland University.

Why do you write?

Everything is creative fuel. Some favorites: music, nature, water, the farm, stars, quantum physics, the sheer miracle of biology.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Joan Didion is my patron saint.

ALSO: Susan Minot, Janet Fitch, Alice Munro, Francine Prose, Haruki Murakami, Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Bukowski, Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Joyce Johnson, Gary Shteyngart, Lauren Slater, Jo Ann Beard, Sue William Silverman, Jeanette Winterson, Lidia Yuknavitch
