No Ideas but in Things?
by Gary Hardaway
1
Forgive the doctor
his hypocrisy -
that great abstraction
in defense of concrete
stops us all
from singing
tedium to ourselves.
2
Ideas, too, are things-
less palpable than plums,
perhaps, but with a longer shelf-life
and, when eaten, they
won't leave you disappointed
come morning
and breakfast time.
Terrific, Gary! *
Absolutely.
What they said.
That always *has* been a thought-provoking quote/concept.
This is very well done.
Thanks everyone for reading and commenting. I am grateful.
I like this meditation on Williams, Gary.
Thanks, Bill.
