    Has anyone had any experience, membership, or knowledge of the benefit to be had in joining the AIW?

    Just curious.

    Yep. I joined when it was the Washington Independent Writers. They hold a conference every year (usually June) -- 1 day, usually in the GWU/Foggy Bottom area. I've attended 2 conferences and pitched at both.

    Impressions: an expensive writing group. Nice mug, though. The conferences both times just so-so. Although I signed up to work with different committees and inquired about joining a writing group, I never got call-backs from anyone.
