    I stopped submitting my work to those online fiction contests where they say the winner will win $3000 dollars or whatever amount. I'm convinced they're all scams and that the people running the website sponsoring the contest just give the prize to their friends. The fact that I have to pay people to read my work drives me bananas.

    Faltering little magazines, more like it, trying to support themselves with the exorbitant entry fees for their paltry prizes.
