Me myself, just as I earnestly doubt that any sensible cat will wind up in a sealed container with a dispenser of deadly cyanic gas as a companion (see "Two or Three Late Encounters with Empiricism", e. g.), so do I doubt that any cat known to man or God would wind up simultaneously in two highly polished aluminum 2.5 cm cubes--yet this is exactly what we're being asked to consider by research physicists:

The canasta champ of "The Fermi Panic" must be sending shudders through the physics and astrophysical research communities, that's all I can conclude.
We don't really know shit. But, isn't it pretty to think we do?
Epistemology just ain't what it used to be.
