Here's a link to the second in a four part series I'm posting on my website featuring Louisiana poets. Cassie Pruyen is a wonderful poet and I especially love the poem she shared with us in this feature, "The New Orleans Affair". The Mississippi River is the subject, one that pops up often in my own writing.
    I hope you'll visit.

That was great! You and so many people are putting so much time and effort into bringing poets and poetry (and elsewhere, prose, video, visual art, other stuff) into the light. Makes me wonder why the world is such a mess, with so much positive stuff happening.Enjoyed visiting your site, Charlotte.

A fine poem. "Fine poem" seems lame. How about pretty near perfect, if not.

Cassie's poem is wonderfully written. It comes fully realized right off the page. I wonder if she realizes the depth and width those words go to in order to bring us up so sharply with our own crude and rumbling thoughts? Of course she does--that's the power of such a powerful and gifted writer.
