  Wonderful article. I'm not familiar with her work, but if Russell Banks thinks so highly of it, Mavis Gallant's writing must be worth tracking down.

  Hope you like her stories, James. I went through a phase of trying to imitate her when I starting writing short stories. I couldn't, but it made me want to try harder and strengthened my love and respect for the short story form.
