Fictionauts,
There are only 15 DAYS until the Flag Day Challenge, and so far there are 11 stories posted to the group for your reading pleasure.
So far, Jane Hammons is still in the lead with a commanding 41 favorites on her story, with Susan Tepper's story "Little" in a distant second place with 9 faves.
Excellent work has been posted so far to the challenge (my own is going to be posted on Tuesday, finished with the great help of Susan T. providing a second set of eyes on the story. As a teaser, she called it "wonderful.")
I hope to see more stories posted over the next couple of weeks and on Flag Day itself. It's never too late to come up with something original for the challenge using the words "flag" and "patriot." Those are the only requirements for this challenge (beside adding it to the group after you've joined up, of course.)
Also, I'm happy to take any reviews that people would like to send my way, which will be posted on Kevinmyrick.com either as they come in or on Flag Day itself.
If you haven't already, go read David Ackley's "Pacific Light": http://www.fictionaut.com/stories/david-ackley/pacific-light-1961-62
It so far is one of my favorite stories (or poems) in the challenge.
And the recently posted story by Linda Simoni-Wastila "Patriot Ford": http://www.fictionaut.com/stories/linda-simoni-wastila/patriot-ford
Happy Memorial Day!

It's Memorial Day. Let it be happy. And let us pause to remember all who have died in battle, and those who continue to die and be maimed, the people of all countries
