A lifelong, everpresent fascination with Kodachrome and photography, film generally led me to this today. Had to share it:

There's a guy in there, just after the fat cop with a trunchion walks across the tracks. The guy has a bowler hat and what looks to be a cell phone to his ear.

    Time traveler?

    I detect a coverup.

    The fat cop.

    Such an Irish Hard-A$$ stereotype.

    (from whence the movie prototypes)

    Dead.

    I'd LOVE to be a time-traveler!

My grandfather was a cop in Gary, Indiana, back in the 1930s. Tough times.

Hard-ass to the max. Went down to the train-yard on his first day. Asked to see the toughest guy around. Defeated him, shall we say (according to family history...) I'll never forget him showing me his 'muscles' when I was about six, he at least 75...

I've watched the early colour film four or five times now. It captures something so delicate and mesmerizing. Really lovely.
