I thought I'd try my hand at book reviewing and had the great good fortune to be assigned Ferraris's novel Kingdom of Strangers by John Kenyon, editor of Grift Magazine. I'm a big fan of these books that give us an inside look at Saudi Arabia and the lives of Muslim women and men. The way Ferraris writes about the bodies of women (so often objectified in crime fiction) fascinates me. I don't know Ferraris, though I saw her speak at a conference once. Anyway. If you're interested
Jane, you did Zoë a great service in your review. Novels set in Mid-Eastern background and context seldom interest me, but after reading your review, I want to read her book.
Thanks for checking it out, James. I learned a lot about the importance of a novel's structure while writing the review.
