I'm a retired college teacher (psychology)trying to see if I can do fiction, which, it turns out, is a whole lot harder than writing academic papers.

Why do you write?

I'm in love with creativity itself. Revision though? That's when I do wonder why I write.

Any favorite authors? Books?

I love Nabokov's playful language, Elizabeth Strout's scenery, Ishiguro's characters, Sherman Alexie's sense of humor, Chandler's cops. Recent favorites: Mrs. Dalloway, Coming Through Slaughter (Ondaatje), and Sex and Lies (Jeanne Winterson).
